News Release

Raising money for Tiger Booster Club Scholarships, Cowley College coaches, employees, and members of the community took to the streets for the school’s annual Blitz Drive on Thursday and eclipsed $54,000 in pledges with additional funds still trickling in.

Tony Crouch, interim athletic director at Cowley College, said although the school missed getting to visit with a few people they had planned to see, the day was a testament to the devotion of area fans and the school’s coaches to Cowley athletics.

“I sincerely thank all those that have supported the Tigers in the past and those that continue to support us today,” Crouch said. “A special “thank you” to our new donors that are joining us for the first time or coming back as supporters. Our strong tradition of success is due in large part to our donor’s support.”

During the past year, Tiger athletic teams combined for one national championship, nine national tournament appearances, four conference championships, and four region titles.
In addition, several Tiger athletes were named to the 2011-2012 All-American and Academic All-American teams.
As part of the Blitz Drive, Bill Hancock, Executive Director of the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) spoke to Tiger coaches and Booster Club members during a luncheon in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.
The Tiger Booster Club has six levels of membership that range from $100 to $2,500. TBC members are admitted free to all Tiger sporting events.

The Tiger Booster Club Poker Run and Tiger Skins/Brian Groves Memorial Golf Tournament preceded the Blitz Drive.
Anyone interested in becoming a Tiger Booster Club member can contact the Cowley Athletic Department at (620)441-5268.
