Rollover Accident Claims Local Man's Life, Injures Another

On September 2nd, 2012 at 12:17 a.m., Arkansas City Police Department received a 911 call to respond to the 1600 block South “H” Street to a one vehicle rollover accident. 
 
 Arkansas City Fire/EMS, Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Arkansas City Police officers responded to the call.  Upon arrival, they located the accident on private property and two occupants of the vehicle that had rolled.  
 
One patient, a 49 year old Arkansas City resident, was ejected and received immediate medical attention and was transported to the South Central Kansas Medical Center where he later died.  The second patient, a 38 year old Arkansas City resident, was evaluated on-scene and later transported to the hospital by private vehicle.  The second patient sustained moderate injuries.
 
 
The accident is still under investigation by the Kansas Highway Patrol and the Arkansas City Police Department.
