On June 9, 2012, A man from Johnson City, Tennessee was the victim of Identity Theft. Arkansas City Police Department learned on August 10, 2012, that the suspect was identified as Pedro Mendoza.

According to Ark City Chief of Police, Sean Wallace, Mendoza, an Ark City resident, used Martinez’s Identity to gain employment with a local plant in Ark City.

Mendoza was arrested for Identity Theft and transported to the Cowley County Jail. Mendoza will be charged federally since the Victim was in the United States Navy in the time of Indecent.
