While many are looking foward to all the fun and games at the Cowley County Fair, one ride, in particular will not be making a return to this year’s fair.
Due to damages caused by the Wichita Tornado a few months back, Ottaways’ Ferris wheel, named the Century Wheel, will not be repaired in time for the Cowley County Fair this year.
This would have marked the 20th year for the Ferris Wheel to make its return to the fairgrounds since the very first fair it was used on was at Cowley.
Fair officials are apologizing to patrons on their face book page, urging people to patient, because they have been promised at next year’s fair, the Ferris wheel will have LED Lights with a brand new computer system.
Repairs, at this time, are estimated to be done by the middle of August.
