Blue-Green Algae Advisory Lifted For Winfield City Lake

Representatives from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment released results taken at the Winfield City Lake on Monday, June 18, 2012.
According to a news release from Winfield City Manager Warren Porter, results revealed that the presence of harmful blue green algae in the public waters of the lake to be very small and below any action levels.
The Public Health Advisory has been removed and no further testing of the lake is scheduled by KDHE.
Porter says normal lake activities may resume right away.
