Shawn comes from the small city. Raised in Parsons, Kansas, he started working in TV at KOAM TV in Pittsburg, Kansas, at the age of 17. After several years part timing there, he became the youngest Producer at the station, ever. After that, he moved on to the big city of Wichita, to work for FOX Kansas/My TV Wichita. He worked his way up the ladder of Corporate America to become Promotions Coordinator.

After being part of the KSOK Good Guys, Shawn was later hired by KAKE News, and moved away. But at the requests of many listeners, Shawn came back. He started back doing weather and news part-time, but then came back full-time as a Good Guy once again. You can hear Shawn “Rhino” Wheat every weekday on 1280 AM, and 95.9 FM, KSOK.
