Busy, Busy, Busy
Wow have we been busy already this week! I went to the Vet yesterday to get my current shots, then Marty O' took me for a ride to check out The Ark City Football team at practice, but we couldn't find them! We looked at the new Bulldog Stadium, but all we saw were construction workers. the Stadium looks REALLY cool, though, I'm glad I got a chance to see it. Today, we're going swimming! It's finally time for the Pooch Plunge! Marty O' and I will be at Paris Park Pool from 5:30 'til 7:30 swimming and running and playing! It's going to be a SWEET time, I hope to see you there. One of the cool things about the Pooch Plunge is that The Ark City Rec Center donates a portion of the admission to The Cowley County Humane Society. Come on out and have fun with us, and help out the poor little pets in our area that need homes! I'll see you at the pool!

A Quick Update
Just a quickie to brighten your day. The guys were talking about The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly this morning on The Get Up And Go Show, and it struck me that I'd heard a pretty cool version of the Theme Song before. Now I remember! Marty O's nephew Frankie sent me this, and it's been stuck in my head for a while. I hope you enjoy The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain! Click on the link below.

A Sad Day
Hey There!
Well, I don't mind saying I'm very sad today. I lost my little buddy Oscar last week. He was pretty old, but a good dog and I'll miss him. Then I heard that my pal Rhino had to put his dog Willow down today because he was really sick. I just don't know what to think. I guess they will be in a better place, but I'm going to miss hanging out with my little pals. I know Marty O' feels bad, too. There's just nothing we can do about it, I guess. Still, I'm going to run and jump and play with Marty O' when he gets home, 'cause you never know when the ones you love will be gone. Enjoy what you have while you have it! I've attached a little prayer for my pals, and a link to an old video I really like from one of my favorite Muppets, Rowlf The Dog. Take care fellas, I miss you!

Prayer for a dog

Treat me gently beloved master, and I will love you with a full and happy heart.

Show me patience and I will learn to understand your every word and action. I will even protect you with my life if yours is at any time in danger.

Speak to me often, for your voice is music to my ears and I await even the simple sound of your footsteps, knowing soon you will be near.

Shelter me from nature's bitter cold and wet and I in return will warm your feet beside the hearth. Or, if life should be unkind, I will find a place of comfort for us both, for your pleasure is my dearest wish.

Play with me, for I seek your challenge just as I seek to please you. I will follow a thrown ball to the ends of the earth if you choose it and I will swim the seven seas just to see you smile.

Fill my bowl with fresh water and see that I'm well fed, for I cannot speak to ask you and am completely at your mercy. But my trust in you is so complete, I know you will never do me wrong.

And beloved master, when I grow old and the time comes to say farewell, hold me gently in your arms and I will go without a whimper. For with you I am safe and secure. A dog who gave love and received it with a grateful heart.

Nice Weather!!!
Hey Everybody!
Just sitting around enjoying the pleasant weather we're having. It certainly is nice not being hot all the time, and hanging out with my pals in the middle of the day instead of sitting in front of a fan or air conditioner panting like I just ran a marathon! I'm sure it will warm up again soon, but it's just really nice right now, and that's good enough for me. So much to do this weekend! Marty O' told me he might be taking me over to the Renaissance Festival in Paris Park this weekend, or The Steam and Gas Engine Show at the Fairgrounds or we might go Frisbee Golfing at Cherry Street Park. I'm not sure yet what we're going to do, I don't think Marty O' knows either! (NO SURPRISE THERE! LOL!) Any way you slice it, it's going to be a fun weekend, and probably the last weekend we get to see some of our pals as they leave town and head off to school. I hope everybody has a good scholastic year, and maybe we can hook up at Thanksgiving or Christmas. It really doesn't seem like summer's almost over, but I guess time flies when you're having fun! By the way, speaking of summertime, I found a video of Alan Jackson doing the old Rock-N-Roll number "Summertime Blues" I've been jamming it lately, and hope you like it, too. Check out the video at this link!

Gordo!

Wow, what a GREAT weekend! Marty O' and I got to hang out and celebrate my birthday pretty much the whole time. We started out doing The Old Trader Saturday morning, then Marty O' went over to Wellington for a Broadcast from Family Hair Parlor. I must say his new haircut is quite dapper. He's looking more and more like David Hasselhoff every day. After that, we had my Birthday dinner: Hamburgers and Ice Cream from Sonic! YUMMMM!. Sunday we hung out together at the studio, then Marty O' and a friend went to see Gordon Lightfoot at The Cotillion. I stayed home and played with my buddies, Norm, Oscar, and Toby and we had a BIG PARTY! I EVEN GOT MORE PRESENTS, a nice card ,and some BACON BEGGIN' STRIPS! What a beautiful birthday. Thanks to everyone who called and wrote with nice wishes. Marty O' wanted me to download some pics from the concert while he was at work, so here they are. Who knows what the next year will bring? I'll check back in soon.

Happy Birthday Milo!

Hey, Everybody!
Just a quick note to check in before a VERY busy weekend. I've been trying to stay inside a lot lately with as hot as it's been, but I'm still walking around the neighborhood when I can. Mostly in the early morning and late evening. I'm pretty excited because I get to go to work with Marty O' for a little while on Saturday. He's The Old Trader this weekend, and I just love hearing about all the cool stuff people call in with. Then we're going to Family Hair Parlor in Wellington for their 10th Anniversary! It's going to be quite a party! Then, I have MY Birthday Party! That's right, I'll be four years old on Saturday! I can't wait to get my Birthday Cheeseburger! I can't believe I've been with Marty O' for three years now. Since he brought me home from Omaha, we've been in Wyoming, Montana, and now Kansas! It's been a pretty cool trip, and I'm looking forward to another fun year with Marty O' and all his buddies. After Saturday's party, I'm going to hang out with my furry pals Norm, Toby, and Oscar on Sunday for another party! It's going to be a VERY cool weekend, I hope you can keep cool, too. See you next week!

Dog Days of Summer

Wow, has it been hot or what? I’m so glad I get to go to work with Marty O’ so I can hang out in the AC in the afternoons. We usually go to Landlord Larry’s pool after work, and keep cool in the shade with a dip or two into the pool to really cool off. We haven’t been walking a lot in the afternoon lately, I just get too hot! Especially when it gets over 100 outside. We still walk early in the morning and late in the evening, but mostly we just chill in the afternoon. Hey, I just remembered; The Pooch Plunge is coming up! I’m VERY excited about going to the Paris Park Pool on August 31st. That’s the day they let me and all my furry friends in for a nighttime swim, I can’t wait to hang out with all my pals at the pool. Do you think I should go off the diving board? I don’t know, well we’ll see. Anyway, for just $10, humans and dogs can get in the pool from 5-7PM, and the Ark city Rec Center will donate $2 to help out the Humane Society. I hope to see you all there. I’ve got to go now, Marty O’ just came in with some food!

National Night Out

It’s been another busy week for the Good Guys! Marty O’ hung out with the Winfield Police Department on Tuesday night as part of National Night Out. I got to go along for the ride, had some GREAT hot dogs at Cochran Park, and met all kinds of cool people. I even got a photo of Marty O’ with the new Winfield Police dog. I don’t mind admitting I’m a little jealous of Kessy because she’s got a REALLY cool job. I think I would look AWESOME with a Kevlar vest and a badge! Thanks to the Winfield Police, and all the nice folks who gave me treats and water. We’ll be back again next year! Next up, Marty O’ goes to The Salvation Army on Friday to help them with their school supplies drive. I’m not sure if I’ll go to that one or not. I may have to stay home depending on the weather. Then it’s the weekend! For the first time in a long time, we have Two WHOLE days off! What to do? Maybe we’ll see you around town as we goof off and relax. I’ll check back in next week.

Fair Fun
Whew, what a weekend! Marty O' had a VERY busy last few days. He was at The Cowley County Fair since last Thursday! Marty O' told me all about the 4-H activities, the rides, all the good food, even the rodeo and The Wild Cow Milking Contest! Even though I couldn't go, things worked out swell for me. I got to go to Camp Rene, and hang out with my pals Oscar, Toby and Norm. We had SOOOOO much fun, and I even got a new toy to play with. It's a fabric fish with a squeaker in the middle. I just love chasing it around and squeezing it. Thanks to Rene and her little guys for taking me in while Marty O' was at work. We'll do it again soon! This week, Marty and I get to go to Winfield for National Night Out. We're hanging out with The Winfield Police tonight and going to a lot of block parties. I hope they have good stuff on the grill! After that, we're going to chill for a couple days until the weekend. Remember, with it being so hot outside, take care of my furry little pals, and give them PLENTY of water! I'll check back in later.

Milo
